TRANSIT FLY Review: The best airport transportation options offered at
Washington Dulles International Airport for passengers heading to the DC metro
area are the direct bus services offered. Both the Washington Flyer Coach and
METRO's Route 5A Express Bus allow passengers frequent service and an
excellent value. The Washington Flyer provides direct Deluxe Coach service to
the West Falls Church Metrorail Station for only $9 (an excellent option for those
with luggage). For those traveling light, the METRO Express Bus 5A goes from
Dulles Airport to the L'Efant Plaza Metro Station in Downtown Washington DC for
a fare of only $3.00, doing the trip in 47 minutes. Metrobus 5A also makes stops
in Tysons and at the Rosslyn Metro Station.

*To/from Washington Dulles Airport there are a variety of good options
to reach METRO trains (see the IAD Bus info listed below for details).

Where to Catch: Passengers will need to take either a bus or a taxi
to reach METRO from Washington Dulles Airport. The best way to
reach METRO rail from Dulles is to take either the
Washington Flyer
Airport Shuttle Bus or the
Metrobus Express 5A Route, both highly
recommended by TransitFly. Washington Flyer takes passengers
non-stop from Washington Dulles Airport to the West Fallas Church
METRO Statio (Orange Line), while Metrobus Express Route 5A
stops at both the Rosslyn, VA Station and L'Efant Plaza Station in
Downtown Washington DC.

While it is unfortunate that there is no direct train service to
Washington Dulles Airport, the transfer via Washington Flyer or
Metrobus is much easier than at some other equivalent airports to due
to the fixed and frequent schedule of the transit options available.
