DTW - Detroit Metro Wayne County International Airport |
Official Airport Website: www.metroairport.com Distance to Downtown: 21.0 miles (33.8 km) Annual Passenger Volume: 35.9 million (2006) |
TRANSIT FLY Review: Transit at Detroit International Airport is unfortunately quite limited. While there is not a fast way to Downtown Detroit beside taxis or airport shuttles, there is a public transit option that often gets overlooked. For passengers that are looking to save dollars more than time on their route into Downtown Detroit the SMART Bus Route #125 may be an option. While the Route 125 SMART Bus is not for passengers in a rush (Downtown Detroit travel time is approx. 90 minutes) at only $1.50 (one-way) the SMART Bus price is 1/30 of the price of a taxi. For service to Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan several shuttle bus companies offer frequent service at very reasonable rates. |
