TRANSIT FLY Review: If everything is "bigger in Texas", for transit options this
often means that communities are sprawling and populations centers are farther
apart. Historically these factors have made public transportation in the
Dallas/Ft.Worth area difficult. In recent years however major strides have been
made in providing transit to Dallas / Ft. Worth International Airport. The
introduction of Trinity Railway Express (TRE) Commuter Rail and the creation of
the CenterPort / DFW Airport Train Station is a major improvement for the airport.
While the frequency of TRE trains can be limiting, with fares that range from only
$1.50-$2.50 (one-way) and travel times of only 30-35 minutes, the value that TRE
trains provide is excellent. TRE Trains service both Downtown Dallas and
Downtown Fort Worth.
